Days of Armenian Culture have started in Ashgabat

On October 28, the opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Armenia in our country took place at the Mukam Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. The cultural event was another clear evidence of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

Turkmenistan and Armenia have been successfully cooperating in many areas for many years. In this context, special importance is attached to the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

This creative action, organized in the year held under the motto "The Storehouse of the mind of Makhtumkuli Fragi", is one of the significant steps towards further rapprochement between the two great cultures and peoples. The activities carried out in our country to deeply study the life and work of poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fraga have received great support from reputable international organizations and countries around the world.

During his visit to our country to participate in the International Forum "The Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – the foundation of Peace and Development", Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian presented a collection of poems by Makhtumkuli Fragi translated into Armenian to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

It should be noted that in the cultural and park complex "Magtymguly Pyragy" on the alley of famous classical poets and thinkers representing different countries, there is a monument to the legendary Armenian poet and composer Sayat Nova.

The opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Armenia was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and its subordinate institutions, the general public, the media, cultural and art figures of our country, teachers and students of specialized universities.

As the participants of this evening noted, the Turkmen and Armenian peoples have many points of contact, historically conditioned and today forming the humanitarian vector of bilateral relations. The arsenal of interaction between scientists and cultural figures of the two countries includes many years of joint work on the study of the richest layer of history and culture of the Turkmen and Armenian peoples, testifying to their ancient contacts.

In this context, the importance of the great joint work carried out by scientists of the two countries to study the legacy of the outstanding Turkmen classical poet Makhtumkuli Fragi, whose 300th birthday is widely celebrated in our country and abroad, was highlighted.

The participants of the action expressed great gratitude to the heads of the two states – President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturian for the policy of peace, broad international cooperation, comprehensive development of culture and art.

At the end of the solemn part, a concert of masters of culture and art of the friendly country took place. Its program consisted of wonderful folk melodies and songs, classical and pop music, and dance compositions. The audience greeted the performances of the artists with loud applause.

Cinema lovers have been given a wonderful opportunity to get acquainted with the works of Armenian cinematographers created over the years. As part of the Days of Culture, film screenings were organized for residents of the capital at the Aşgabat cinema and the Watan Cinema and Concert Center.

An extensive cultural program has been prepared for guests from Armenia, within the framework of which they will get acquainted with the sights of the white marble capital and the unique exhibits of its museums.
