The National Leader of the Turkmen people received the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey

On October 10, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Numan Kurtulmus, who arrived in our country on a visit.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to discuss important issues of bilateral cooperation, the guest took the opportunity to convey warm greetings from President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero Arkadag.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed gratitude to the head of the Turkish Parliament for participating in the international forum dedicated to the anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Mahtumkuly Fragy and conveyed his best wishes to the head of the fraternal state.

This year we are widely celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of the classic of Turkmen literature, the outstanding thinker of the East Makhtumkuli. In honor of this significant event in our capital, Ashgabat, we have built a cultural and park complex "Magtymguly Pyragy", where a monument to the poet is installed. A monument to Yunus Emre was also unveiled here, the Arkadag Hero said.

In this regard, the importance of the works of Turkish scientists and specialists in the field of studying Makhtumkuli's work on translating the poems of the great poet into Turkish and their wide popularization was noted.

The interlocutors stressed the long-term, strategic nature of bilateral relations and the fact that the linguistic, cultural and spiritual community of our peoples contributes to the further development of interstate relations.

As noted, Turkmenistan and Turkey are developing high-level relations in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Inter-parliamentary relations play an important role in the Turkmen-Turkish interstate cooperation. In this context, Hero-Arkadag confirmed the readiness of the Turkmen side for more active cooperation in the field of parliamentary diplomacy.

Our countries successfully cooperate both bilaterally and multilaterally, as well as within the framework of reputable international organizations. Turkey's support for the initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan within the framework of international organizations, in particular the United Nations, is a clear confirmation of this.

During the meeting, an interested exchange of views on other priority areas of bilateral partnership also took place.

In conclusion, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Numan Kurtulmus exchanged wishes of good health and success in their activities, as well as peace and prosperity to the peoples of the two countries.
