The International Forum "Interconnection of Times and Civilisations - the Basis for Peace and Development" was held under the chairmanship of the President of Turkmenistan

On 11 October, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired the International Forum "Interconnection of Times and Civilisations - the Basis of Peace and Development".

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov arrived in our country to participate in the high-level forum, President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the large conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the country.

Also among the guests are the President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, President of the UNESCO General Conference, heads of international organisations, members of foreign governments, renowned scientists, cultural figures and diplomats.

The forum is being held within the framework of a large programme to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Makhtumkuli Fraghi, which included many solemn events organized both in our country and abroad. Its main goals are to popularise the classical heritage of Makhtumkuli Fraghi, to study the relationship between the languages and literatures of the peoples of the East, his role in the development of national statehood and the contribution of the humanist poet to the treasury of universal spiritual values.

The activities carried out in our country to study in depth the life and work of the poet and thinker have received great support from authoritative international organisations and countries of the world. The International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) has declared 2024 "The Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World - Mahtumkuly Fragi". The collection of manuscripts of Mahtumkuly Fragi is included in the Memory of the World Register of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). The 300th anniversary of the poet's birth has also been inscribed on UNESCO's List of Commemorations. All this is a tribute to the great master of words.

In our country, the year 2024 has been declared the year of "Treasure of Mind of Mahtumkuly Fragi". On the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, the anniversary of the great thinker Mahtumkuly Fragi is celebrated at a high level, and the works of the poet, which have become a universal value, are popularised in the world.
