Solemn Opening of the Czech Universities Fair Held in Ashgabat

Ashgabat, Turkmenistan — 4th November in 2024 year the official opening of the Czech Universities Fair took place at the Turkmenistan Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics, attracting significant interest from students and graduates of higher education institutions, as well as high school seniors in Turkmenistan. Representatives from all universities in Ashgabat attended the event, underscoring the importance of this occasion for the educational community of the country.

The opening ceremony was attended by Azat Atayev, Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan for Higher and Secondary Technical Education, Lubomír Frebort, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Turkmenistan (with residence in Tashkent), and the rector of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics. During the official meeting, possibilities for academic exchange and prospects for bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Czech Republic were discussed, aimed at enhancing educational ties and creating new opportunities for students and faculty in both countries.

On behalf of the Czech side, representatives from leading Czech universities, including Charles University in Prague, the University of Chemistry and Technology, the Czech University of Life Sciences, and Tomas Bata University in Zlín, attended the event. Academic department heads, international office representatives, and officials from CzechPoint.Uz, an agency supporting Central Asian students studying in the Czech Republic, were also present at the fair.

Young attendees at the fair had a unique opportunity to learn about Czech university programs, study abroad prospects, and inquire about the application process and student life in the Czech Republic. The fair became an important platform for expanding international ties and strengthening educational cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Czech Republic.

The organizers express their gratitude to all participants and hope that this event will open new opportunities for cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of education.
