On November 6, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
During the conversation, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The parties noted the growing dynamics of contacts at the highest level. In this context, the course of implementation of the agreements reached during the meetings of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held this year, was considered.
The Foreign ministers noted the importance of intensifying cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, including holding meetings in bilateral and multilateral formats in the near future.
The Ministers stressed the importance of trade and economic ties between the two countries. Special emphasis was placed on the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation, the next 18th meeting of which is scheduled to be held before the end of the year.
The parties discussed the development of cultural and humanitarian ties. It was emphasized that the cultural sphere is one of the important components of bilateral cooperation.
In this regard, the interlocutors agreed to hold joint events in November-December of this year, including the Iran Agro Food exhibition, Children's Friendship Week, jewelry workshops, etc.
