In recent years, Turkmen higher education institutions have been actively advancing on the global academic stage, striving for inclusion in prestigious international rankings and enhancing their research performance. As previously highlighted, a significant factor in the success of Turkmen universities is the publication activity of their faculty and researchers. These publications in leading scientific journals and on digital platforms strengthen Turkmenistan's academic authority on the international stage.
Turkmen researchers publish their work on platforms such as the Russian "eLibrary.ru," the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), as well as major bibliometric databases like Scopus and Web of Science, making a substantial contribution to the global repository of scientific knowledge. There has been a sharp increase in publications in journals recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission, which represents an important step toward enhancing the country's academic reputation.
According to the latest data, the number of Turkmen authors on "eLibrary.ru" has increased 95-fold from 2019 to 2023, while the overall citation rate of Turkmen researchers has grown fivefold. A significant increase in the number of publications is also expected by the end of 2024. The leaders in publication activity have been the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, whose work is in high demand within the scientific community. This success demonstrates that Turkmenistan is confidently solidifying its position as a center of scientific and educational progress.
