The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Education and the Regional Export Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the United Kingdom

On November 14, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev and Regional Export Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the United Kingdom Sarah Chiji. The main topic of discussion was the possibility of strengthening educational cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom. This is reported on the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

Sarah Chiji shared the UK's experience in the field of education, noting successful projects in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. She said that a number of British universities, including the University of Westminster, are interested in expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan in the field of higher education. In addition, the possibility of accreditation of Turkmen educational institutions for the provision of secondary education services was discussed.

Ms. Chiji also said that early next year it is planned to hold a Turkmen-British Trade and Industry Council, which will address education issues. An important event for discussing further steps will be the World Education Forum, which will be held in London in May.

Azat Atayev expressed support for the initiatives and suggested considering the organization of joint webinars aimed at studying British educational standards, accreditation and licensing. It is expected that such seminars will help identify key issues for deepening cooperation, and by May the parties will be able to discuss in more detail specific steps for the implementation of joint projects.
