On November 16, 2024, as part of events organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY), an award ceremony was held for the winners of international competitions dedicated to the declaration of 2024 as the "Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World Magtymguly Pyragy" and the city of Annau as the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World."
The winners of two major competitions — literary mastery and fine arts — were honored for their outstanding achievements.
In the essay competition dedicated to Magtymguly Pyragy, Turkmen students achieved top results. Among the winners were:
- Gulendam Rahymova, an 11th-grade student of Secondary School No. 4 in Gyzylarbat District, Balkan Region — 1st place;
- Mahrijemal Begjanova, a 10th-grade student of Secondary School No. 3 in Etrek District — 2nd place;
- Tumar Ashyrova, an 11th-grade student of the Specialized Youth School No. 24 in Mary City — 3rd place.
In the international competition of young artists on the theme of "Cultural Heritage of Turkic Nations and the Culture of Annau," Turkmen schoolchildren also excelled:
- Mahriban Durdymyradova, a 12th-grade student of Secondary School No. 29 in Yoloten District, Mary Region — 1st place;
- Gulnabat Annanurova, a first-year student at the Sahy Jepbarov Specialized Art School in the city of Arkadag — 2nd place;
- Begench Hojagulyyev, an 11th-grade student of Secondary School No. 19 in Balkanabat City — 3rd place.
Thus, Turkmen students secured prize-winning positions in all categories and across both competition areas, reaffirming the high quality of the national education system and its competitiveness on the international stage. Representatives from other countries, including Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, also showcased their talents, achieving the following results:
- Essay competition: 3 first places, 4 second places, and 4 third places;
- Fine arts competition: 3 first places, 3 second places, and 4 third places.
All winners were awarded special diplomas and valuable gifts.
These accomplishments once again underscored the significance of hosting international cultural events to foster friendship and mutual understanding among countries, inspiring the younger generation to develop their creative potential.
