On November 18 of this year, professional development courses for pedagogical staff of Turkmenistan commenced at the National Institute of Education. These courses are being conducted with the participation of instructors from the Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation.
The opening ceremony of the methodical and practical courses at the National Institute of Education was held with the participation of Russian experts. The event was attended by guests and the country's pedagogical staff, as well as a representative from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan, Ms. E.S. Zaitseva, who delivered a congratulatory speech.
As is well known, In the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State under the the wise leadership of our esteemed President, Hero Arkadag Serdar, great importance is placed on international cooperation as part of the modernization policy of the national education system. Bilateral cooperation is being strengthened with leading global educational and scientific centers and prestigious universities. A clear example of this cooperation is the recently signed, more precisely in October 2024, an important agreement on cooperation between the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan and the Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University of the Russian Federation. This agreement outlines the key areas of international cooperation, one of which is the professional development of pedagogical staff, improving professional skills, and conducting retraining courses. The courses for pedagogical staff that have started in our country are conducted based on this agreement. It is important to note that the professional development courses are organized around six main topics:
1. Developing mathematical and natural science literacy among primary school students and evaluation approaches in primary education.
2. Innovative activities of preschool educators.
3. Content and organization of the work of special education teachers in preschool institutions.
4. Enhancement of professional competencies of teachers of the Russian language and literature.
5. Opportunities for pedagogical psychologists to address important contemporary issues.
6. The use of modern technologies in teaching "Life Skills" and "Physical Education" subjects to improve students' literacy.
The professional development courses are being held for pedagogues in Ashgabat, the cities of Arkadag, and all regions of the country, as well as for teachers at secondary and higher vocational educational institutions such as the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi, the Seidnazar Seidi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute, the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, as well as in teacher training schools in Arkadag city, including the Aman Kekilov and Beki Seytakov schools, where pedagogical staff are participating.
The courses, lasting 72 academic hours, offer the opportunity for Turkmen educators to familiarize themselves with modern approaches to lesson planning and delivery, methods of integrating innovative pedagogical technologies into the educational process, ways of developing and integrating digital educational resources, practical approaches to developing mathematical literacy, identifying and supporting gifted children, as well as other essential topics. The professional development courses will contribute to the successful implementation of the objectives and goals of the "Concept of improving teaching methods in general education programs in Turkmenistan until 2028," which was approved by the President of Turkmenistan on May 25 of this year.
Upon completing the courses, participants will receive an international certificate.
