A ceremony of awarding state awards to military personnel was held in Turkmenistan on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary

On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the independence of the Motherland, in accordance with the Decrees signed by the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a ceremony of awarding state awards to military personnel, awarding regular military and special ranks, as well as class ranks to military personnel and law enforcement officers was held.

Over the years of independence, the national Armed Forces have become an unshakable stronghold of the independent Turkmen state. The state focuses on the issues of strengthening the material and technical base of the Armed Forces, improving the social and living conditions of military personnel and their family members.

Receiving awards with a sense of high pride, the participants of the celebration, who linked their fate with the protection of their beloved Homeland, kneeling, kiss the edge of the sacred National flag of Turkmenistan as a sign of loyalty to the military oath, eternal devotion to the Motherland and readiness to selflessly guard the peaceful and creative life of Turkmen people.

"For several decades, we have been successfully implementing comprehensively elaborated programs to improve the standard and quality of life of our courageous people, create a competitive national economy, as well as the comprehensive development of the Fatherland," President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized in his Address to the people of Turkmenistan on the occasion of Independence Day.

Having proclaimed positive neutrality, peacefulness, good-neighborliness and constructive international cooperation as the key principles of state policy, Turkmenistan implements a Military Doctrine that is purely defensive in nature and designed to ensure the security of the country, the high defense capability of the National Army, which acts as a guarantor of peaceful and prosperous life of the people.

Having flawlessly mastered the skills of modern military equipment and weapons, our soldiers make a significant contribution to the dynamic development of the country, always following such high principles of their ancestors as justice, wisdom, fortitude, courage, fearlessness and patriotism.

As the head of state emphasizes, our Motherland is a country of courageous people. The sacred duty of our defenders is to strictly follow the goals and principles of the Military Doctrine developed on the basis of Turkmenistan's foreign policy aimed at strengthening peace and security, the legal status of our neutrality, and ensuring the security and integrity of the borders of the Motherland.

Today, the dreams of the great poet-thinker Mahtumkuli Fragi about an independent state have come true. The Turkmen people live and create happily in a peaceful, prosperous and powerful country where the high and noble aspirations of their ancestors have come true.

The servicemen presented for awards for impeccable service and conscientious fulfillment of their sacred military duty expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the high appreciation of their services to the Motherland, assuring that they would continue to selflessly fulfill the responsible tasks assigned to them, faithfully serve the Fatherland, honoring military traditions, showing patriotism, bravery and courage.
