Deligation from Turkmenistan Participates in the Forum of Rectors of Central Asian Universities

Today, November 20, 2024, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek, hosted the Forum of Rectors of Central Asian Universities. The event brought together representatives of the academic community and university rectors from across the region. The delegation from Turkmenistan included N. Kuliev, Rector of the Turkmenistan Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics; B. Tanryberdiyev, Rector of the Turkmen State Institute of Finance; and O. Ovezsakhidov, Rector of Magtymguly Turkmen State University.

The speeches of the Turkmen rectors highlighted the achievements of Turkmenistan’s education system, large-scale state reforms, and the historic initiatives implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The Turkmen delegation's presentations detailed the development of Arkadag, the country’s first "smart city," which has become a symbol of Turkmenistan’s innovative progress. Built with the latest technologies, the city reflects the nation’s commitment to sustainable development and plays a vital role in the education system. Educational institutions in Arkadag are equipped with advanced digital solutions, ensuring high-quality training for students.

It was also emphasized that Arkadag's educational institutions actively collaborate with international partners, implementing academic mobility programs and innovative approaches to training specialists in engineering, IT, and environmental studies. The city serves as a vivid example of the successful integration of future technologies with national traditions.

Special attention was given to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great poet and thinker Magtymguly Pyragy. Forum participants were informed about the extensive scientific and cultural initiatives dedicated to this significant date, including international scientific conferences, literary competitions, and research projects aimed at promoting Magtymguly’s legacy as a national symbol and an inspiring figure for modern youth.

The importance of Magtymguly’s heritage in fostering patriotism, humanism, and respect for one’s roots among the younger generation was also underlined. Particular focus was placed on the initiative to translate the poet’s works into foreign languages, which strengthens Turkmenistan’s cultural ties with the global community.

At the conclusion of the forum, participants highly appreciated the information presented and expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation with Turkmen universities, recognizing their contributions to the development of regional and international academic partnerships.
