On November 23, at the Turkmen State Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics, a training seminar on SCAFFOLD teaching methods was held with the participation of 100 teacher representatives from the country’s higher, secondary, and primary vocational schools, as well as general education schools.
The event was organized within the framework of the regional project “Dialogue and Action for Resourceful Youth in Central Asia” (DARYA) by the European Training Foundation (ETF) under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan.
The training seminar was conducted as part of the visit of K.I. Hemschmeyer, ETF’s Coordinator for Central Asia, and R. Turayeva-Hyonen, an international expert and member of the DARYA project’s SCAFFOLD methodology team, to Turkmenistan from November 18 to 24. The event was also attended by specialists from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan, and the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan.
The SCAFFOLD methodology involves working with 102 specialized cards, enabling teachers to conduct educational activities from planning to evaluation stages. This methodology allows teachers to enhance their skills with essential teaching and development methods, emphasizing the importance of key competencies. It includes working on skills related to green, digital, social, and entrepreneurial domains. The methodology promotes the creation of development plans, solving complex problems, and jointly exploring innovative approaches to address modern challenges.
SCAFFOLD provides guidance for organizing the educational process and evaluating students’ achievements, allowing educators to integrate necessary knowledge into each competency effectively.
The consistent implementation of projects by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan to improve the teaching skills and educational capabilities of teachers in higher, secondary, and primary vocational schools, as well as general education schools, has a significant impact on enhancing the quality and standards of teaching in the country and advancing Turkmenistan’s education sector.
