Today, the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Chemistry Olympiad among the students of the higher educational institutions was held at Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
Nearly 220 students from 23 universities of the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, Japan, Romania, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Türkeye, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as from 21 higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan, are participating in the 3rd International Chemistry Olympiad.
Specifically, students and post graduates, along with their mentors, are participating in the Olympiad from the following institutions: Lomonosov Moscow State University, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lulumba (RUDN University), Ural State University of Economics, National Research Novosibirsk State University, Kazan (Volga region) Federal University, D.I. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Astana International University of Kazakhstan, Yerevan State University of Armenia, Tajik National University of Tajikistan, Baku Engineering University of Azerbaijan, Belarusian State University, Karshi State University, and Bukhara State University of Uzbekistan, Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiești of Romania, Kosar University of Bojnord, Islamic Azad University, and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad of Iran, Xinjiang University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and China University of Petroleum of China, Saitama University, and Okinawa University of Agriculture and Technology of Japan, and Atatürk University of the Republic of Türkeye.
Participants of the 3rd International Chemistry Olympiad and the international scientific conference titled “Modernizing the Methodology of Teaching Chemistry and the Contemporary Development of Chemical Technologies” visited an exhibition held in the foyer of Magtymguly Turkmen State University. The exhibition showcased achievements in the fields of education and science, as well as advancements in chemical technologies, along with valuable artifacts of Turkmen national arts and crafts. They also enjoyed performances by the university’s “Bagtyýarlyk Owazlary” cultural centre’s dutar ensemble, which presented songs celebrating our Arkadagly Hero Serdar, the prosperous homeland, national values, and Turkmen youth.
At the opening ceremony of the International Olympiad, professors, post graduates, and students from Magtymguly Turkmen State University, Lomonosov Moscow State University of Russian Federation, Xinjiang University of People’s Republic of China, Yerevan State University of the Republic of Armenia, Tajik National University of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Ural State University of Economics of Russian Federation delivered speeches. They highlighted the comprehensive cooperation being pursued in Neutral Turkmenistan under the peaceful and trust-based policies of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and the esteemed President of Turkmenistan, with regional and global nations. The speakers emphasized the importance of educational reforms implemented in Turkmenistan based on leading international practice, the integration of global expertise into the education system, and the use of innovative technologies and multimedia tools to elevate the quality of education to modern advanced standards. They also noted that the 3rd International Chemistry Olympiad for university students, held by Magtymguly Turkmen State University from November 25 to 30, 2024, serves as a clear demonstration of the extensive international cooperation in the field of education. This event aligns with the themes of 2024, designated as the year of “Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy.”
The Olympiad is conducted in accordance with international standards in both individual and team formats, at levels A and B. It is overseen by professors, scientists, and experts from the academic and scientific institutions of Turkmenistan, as well as professors and researchers from foreign universities serving as judges. Additionally, scientists from Japan are participating as observers.
In the speeches, it was noted that Magtymguly Turkmen State University has created modern conditions for training highly-qualified specialists in the field of chemistry. It was highlighted that, through the tireless efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, a new chemistry faculty building has been constructed and equipped with modern classrooms and laboratories. These facilities are furnished with state-of-the-art equipment produced by the world’s leading companies, which allows students to gain hands-on experience in various fields of chemical science. The creation of advanced conditions for learning and scientific research is crucial in training specialized professionals in the field of education, science, and production at the university.
The opening ceremony of the International Olympiad continued with performances by the singers of the “Bagtyýarlyk Owazlary” cultural centre of Magtymguly Turkmen State University. They performed songs and dances from various cultures, including those of Russia, China, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Romania, Tajikistan, the Republic of Türkiye, and Japan. These performances, including the song “Turkmenistan, Our Homeland,” which praises our prosperous country, and the traditional Turkmen national Kushtdepdi dance, left a lasting impression on the participants. At the end of the event, the performance of the song “With Arkadagly Hero Serdar, Our Leader!” further amplified the festive atmosphere, celebrating the efforts of the esteemed President of Turkmenistan in the development of the country’s socio-economic progress during the era of the Revival of the Prosperous State.
At the end of the opening ceremony, participants expressed their gratitude and admiration to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and the esteemed President of Turkmenistan for providing the exceptional opportunities for conducting the 3rd International Chemistry Olympiad.
