The President of Turkmenistan held talks with a U.S. senator

On November 25, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Steve Daines, a member of the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Senator from Montana of the United States of America.

Expressing sincere gratitude to the head of state for the time devoted to the meeting, the guest stressed that the United States attaches great importance to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with neutral Turkmenistan.

Warmly welcoming Steve Daines, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed firm confidence that the upcoming negotiations during the guest's visit will allow exchanging views on the prospects for expanding multilateral interstate partnership.

As noted, relations between Turkmenistan and the United States, based on the principles of mutual respect, trust and mutual understanding, include political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas.

At the same time, it was stated that in recent years the political dialogue between the two countries has become active. This creates an opportunity for an effective exchange of views on issues on the global agenda such as sustainable development, security and climate change.

The subject of discussion was also the trade and economic sphere, which is one of the main vectors of interaction between our countries. For many years, productive cooperation has been carried out with the largest American companies involved in the implementation of significant projects in Turkmenistan. In this context, the great contribution of the Turkmenistan–USA Business Council to this was noted.

As the Head of state stressed, our country is implementing a strategy to diversify energy export routes. At the same time, as noted, Turkmenistan stands for the development of partnership taking into account the interests of producers, consumers and transit countries.

During the exchange of views on the priority areas of cooperation, it was noted that there are wide opportunities for the development of bilateral cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and member of the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Senator Steve Danes from Montana of the United States of America addressed their best wishes to each other.
