On November 26, the capital hosted the opening of the international conference and exhibition “International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development — 2024”. The international forum, held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is attended by about 600 representatives from more than 40 countries worldwide. Among the participants are representatives of state and private institutions, international organizations including the UN, OSCE, World Bank, diplomatic missions in Turkmenistan, and members of the media.
The ceremonial opening of the forum was also attended by members of the Government, heads and representatives of ministries, sectoral agencies, and public organizations of Turkmenistan.
The attendees listened with great interest to the congratulatory message from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed to the participants of the international exhibition and scientific conference.
In the President’s welcoming message, it was emphasized that in the era of the Revival of the New Epoch of a Powerful State, great importance is attached to the modernization of the country's transport and communication system and the expansion of mutually beneficial international cooperation. Strengthening the legal framework for transport diplomacy, enhancing the capabilities of the state’s transport sector, and improving and implementing legislation in this area play a significant role in the "President of Turkmenistan’s Program for the Development of Transport Diplomacy for 2022–2025."
"This high-profile forum will significantly expand international cooperation in the field of sustainable transport and vividly demonstrate to the world Turkmenistan's position in international transport and transit systems, including transport corridors along the East-West and North-South routes, with its innovative potential in multimodal freight transportation," noted the message from the President of Turkmenistan.
