Strategies for Higher Education Institutions: Pathways to Success in QS and THE Rankings

On September 19-20, 2024, an introduction a meeting to the Erasmus+ program was held in the online format. The online meeting was attended by Aziza Abdurakhmanova, Erasmus+ Program Coordinator in Uzbekistan, Diyor Umarov, Head of the International and National Rankings Department of the Erasmus+ program in Uzbekistan, Hellen Hazelkorn, Policy Advisor to the Higher Education Authority (HEA), Professor at the Dublin Institute of Technology of Ireland, as well as teachers and students of higher education institutions of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.

   Aziza Abdurakhmanova introduced the activities carried out in the Republic of Uzbekistan to achieve success in the international rankings of QS and THE. In her speech, she spoke about held and future seminars on technical assistance commitments (TAM) in Uzbekistan.

  In his speech, Diyor Umarov spoke about the academic achievements and ranking of universities in Uzbekistan. He also presented a comparison of the lists of articles published in Scoрus and received grand prizes by the Republic of Uzbekistan for the period of 2008-2024.

  Afterwards, Professor Hellen Hazelkorn made a presentation on the rating assessment. In her speech, she spoke about the geopolitics of ratings and quality, the evolution of the rating assessment, the key indicators used in the rating assessment, as well as the impact of the rating assessment on the work of higher education institutions.

   At the end of the meeting, its participants held a discussion, where they received the necessary information on all issues of interest.
