THE MASTERPIECES OF TURKMENISTAN’S HERO SARAGT BABAYEV

Teachers and students from the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute visited the workshop of Turkmenistan’s Hero Saragt Babayev to deeply study the works he had skillfully created. They explored the meaning and content conveyed by his artistic creations.

At the subsequent session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, in accordance with the Decree signed by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Saragt Babayev, a member of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan and a free artist, was awarded the highest distinction of Turkmenistan, the title of ‘Hero of Turkmenistan’, and the ‘Altyn Aý’ golden medal. Master sculptor Saragt Babayev received this high honor for his distinguished services to the independent, permanently neutral state of Turkmenistan and its brave people over many years, for creating the monument to the great Eastern sage and classic poet Magtymguly Fragi, for continuing the mentor-student tradition, for his extensive efforts in training young sculptors, for developing a unique school of sculpture in the field of fine arts, and for his significant personal contribution to the advancement of our country’s sculptural arts, and for his long-standing, dedicated, and creative work.
