On October 11, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Education A. Atayev and leadership from the International University for the Humanities and Development, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, and the Turkmen Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications. They were joined by Marcello Fantoni, Vice President of Kent State University (USA).
The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the tasks arising from the recently signed “Memorandum of Understanding between the International University for the Humanities and Development and Kent State University,” “Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and Kent State University,” and “Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Kent State University” during the recent visit of Turkmenistan's education delegation to the U.S. The future directions of cooperation were also discussed.
Marcello Fantoni, Vice President of Kent State University, who is on a working visit to Turkmenistan to participate in the international exhibition and scientific conference titled "Healthcare, Education, and Sports in the Revival of the New Era of a Strong State," expressed his pride in the signing of these agreements, which form the legal foundation for cooperation between universities in the U.S. and Turkmenistan, and affirmed his commitment to continuing effective collaboration.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that the agreements signed between the higher educational institutions of the two countries will help strengthen academic relations, promote joint scientific research, foster mutual exchange of expertise, and lead to the fulfillment of several specific tasks.
