Talks Held Between the International University for the Humanities and Development and University of Bucharest

On December 5, 2024, as part of an official visit to Romania, a delegation from the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD) met with the officials of the University of Bucharest. The meeting was hosted by Constantin Vica, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at University of Bucharest. Other participants included the Director of Bucharest University’s International Cooperation Office and representatives from the Turkmenistan Embassy in Romania.

During the meeting, the Romanian side provided an in-depth overview of Bucharest University’s history and its main research and educational priorities, including innovative academic fields. N. Shyhlyyev, Vice-Rector of IUHD, emphasized the institution's longstanding collaboration with Romanian universities and proposed drafting an agreement to enhance academic mobility between the two universities, including student exchange programs.

Additionally, both sides expressed mutual interest in exploring the development of a joint master’s program in international arbitration law. Given reputation of the University of Bucharest as one of Europe’s leading law schools, such a program is seen as a significant step toward training highly qualified specialists in international law.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue discussions on the proposed initiatives and thanked each other for the productive dialogue.
