The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, R. Meredov, prefaced his report by sharing the good news received from the UN Headquarters in New York. On December 2, during the regular meeting of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the resolution initiated by Turkmenistan, titled "Treaty on a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in Central Asia," was unanimously adopted.
In this context, it was noted that the development of multifaceted cooperation with the UN holds special importance in the implementation of the nation's foreign policy course. Within the framework of this traditional partnership, Turkmenistan, under the initiative of the head of state, puts forward significant proposals aimed at ensuring global peace and trust and enhancing international efforts in various areas. The relevance of these proposals and their broad support from the international community are evidenced by the adoption of corresponding UN General Assembly Resolutions initiated by our country.
On this occasion, on behalf of the members of the government, the Vice Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs warmly congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on this foreign policy achievement and wished him robust health and new great successes in his noble activities for the prosperity of the homeland, the enhancement of its international prestige, and the well-being of the Turkmen people.
