Ashgabat, October 9 (TDH). Today, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry hosted the presentation of the 16th volume of the fundamental scientific work "Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan" by academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The new edition was published on the eve of the professional holiday – the Day of Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers. The event was attended by Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads and specialists of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, relevant institutions, representatives of other ministries, sectoral management bodies, public organizations, media representatives, and students.
The speakers emphasized that this multi-volume scientific publication has generated great interest and widespread popularity not only within the international medical community but also among a broad readership. This unique scientific-encyclopedic work on the medicinal plants of Turkmenistan and national phytotherapy has been translated into many languages and has become accessible to millions of foreign readers. It has become a reference guide for professionals working in various fields of medicine in our country. Hero Arkadag has created a model for the development of national medicine that combines the wisdom and experience of our ancestors with modern trends in world medicine.
This comprehensive scientific work, which extensively describes the medicinal properties of dozens of types of local herbs, plant roots, fruits, including endemic species, offers readers the opportunity to explore the centuries-old experience and traditions of the Turkmen people, who have made significant contributions to the treasury of human achievements, including medical science. The richly informative encyclopedia also allows foreign readers to familiarize themselves with the nature of our country. The book is based on scientific principles and includes a dictionary of medicinal plant names, as well as information on the methods of preparing medicinal drinks and gathering herbs.
The new volume of the National Leader’s book "Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan" also describes the best practices of Eastern medicine and Turkmen healers passed down through generations. Additionally, this work will contribute to strengthening friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation, including in the humanitarian sphere, between countries and peoples.
