Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan Ranked Higher in the 2024 "UI GreenMetric World University" List

During the Era of Revival of a New Epoch of a Powerful State, under the visionary leadership of our esteemed Hero Arkadagly Serdar, extensive efforts are being implemented in Turkmenistan to ensure the sustainable use and restoration of natural resources and to maintain ecological well-being. Annual nationwide tree-planting campaigns result in the planting of millions of trees, contributing significantly to the greening of the country. Turkmenistan's environmental policies have garnered substantial support from the international community. As is well-known, the nation strives to fulfill its commitments and actively participates in several international agreements and conventions aimed at sustainable development, environmental protection, and the efficient use of natural resources globally.

Following the directives of our Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan takes a highly responsible approach to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, efficient resource utilization, and environmental protection. Scientific research is actively conducted to address these challenges. The university's initiatives in these areas are recognized not only within the country but also internationally. The university's achievement in the "UI GreenMetric World University" ranking is a testament to this success.

In 2024, Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University advanced by 104 positions from the previous year to rank 328th in the "UI GreenMetric World University" list, which evaluates the efforts of leading global universities in environmental protection, sustainable resource use, and ecological initiatives. The university scored a total of 7,400 points, distributed as follows:

  • Waste Management: 1,125 points
  • Water Resources Management: 750 points
  • Environmentally Friendly Transportation: 1,475 points

This achievement demonstrates the importance placed on the development of science and education in ecology and environmental protection at both the university and national levels in Turkmenistan.
