The Esteemed President Met with the New Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan

On December 13, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan, Ravshanbek Alimov, who presented his credentials to the Head of State.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the time allocated, the diplomat conveyed warm greetings to the President of Turkmenistan, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He extended his best wishes to the brotherly Turkmen nation. The guest emphasized that it is a great honor for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan, which shares long-standing ties of friendship and brotherhood with Uzbekistan, based on shared spiritual, cultural, and historical values. Taking the opportunity, the ambassador warmly congratulated the Head of State on the 29th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s status as a permanently neutral state.

Thanking the ambassador for his kind words and conveying warm reciprocal greetings to the Uzbek leader, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to this important position and wished him success in strengthening and developing comprehensive interstate cooperation. This cooperation is built on mutual respect and trust. The Head of State emphasized that Turkmenistan highly values its time-tested relations with its closest neighbor, and further deepening these ties is a priority of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy of neutrality.

During the meeting, it was noted that the bilateral dialogue is developing at a high level both in bilateral and multilateral formats within the framework of reputable regional and international organizations. It was highlighted that Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation has gained momentum in recent years, expanding across a wide range of areas. Through regular meetings and mutual visits, the two nations have achieved a qualitatively new level of partnership in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres within a relatively short period.

Particular emphasis in the multifaceted cooperation was placed on trade and economic relations. Positive dynamics are evident in bilateral trade turnover, and contacts in sectors such as fuel and energy, transport and logistics, and agriculture are actively expanding.

It was also emphasized that interaction in the humanitarian sphere is an integral part of interstate dialogue, stemming from the shared cultural roots, spiritual values, and centuries-old traditions of the two nations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ravshanbek Alimov assured President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of his commitment to strengthening Turkmen-Uzbek relations. He wished further outstanding success in large-scale activities and peace and prosperity to the Turkmen people.
