As previously reported, from December 9 to 13, 2024, representatives of the Ashgabat Tourism Vocational School and the Infocommunication Vocational-Technical School of the Turkmen Telecommunications and Informatics Institute participated in comprehensive training events and meetings organized under the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program of the Asian Development Bank for the staff of vocational education institutions in Central Asia.
Following the activities in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, where participants learned about the work of vocational schools (colleges), the meetings continued in Liuzhou, focusing on the work of educational and industrial institutions in this region.
In particular, the participants studied the unique features of the Railway Vocational-Technical School in Liuzhou, its close cooperation with major companies such as “Nanning Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd.,” the organization of regular professional development courses, joint training sessions with engineering and technical staff, as well as methods and practices for constructing and maintaining railways.
Subsequently, meetings were held to explore the history, production capacity, technologies used, and other aspects of major automobile plants such as “Guangxi Automobile Group” and “SAIC-GM-Wuling,” located in Liuzhou.
The participants then visited the Polytechnic University in Liuzhou and its associated vocational school. Discussions focused on modern methods for training specialists in equipment maintenance, conducting educational activities, and scientific-research and project work in this field.
The study visit concluded with presentations in Guilin, showcasing the unique natural beauty and cultural-historical landmarks of the region, as well as the activities of Guilin Tourism University. The university administration proudly highlighted its efforts to prepare young specialists for the tourism sector in areas such as hospitality, food technology, and more. Particular attention was given to its collaboration with leading international companies like “Shandong Inspur Group” and “Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne.” The university also showcased the results of its research and development efforts using VR, AR, big data, and artificial intelligence technologies to advance and manage the tourism industry.
