On December 18, 2024, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, at the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism, the next meeting of the International Association of Universities of Physical Culture and Sport took place. By the decision of the association, the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport was officially accepted into its membership. The corresponding certificate was solemnly presented to S. Gurdova, the chairperson of the student sports club of the institute and the secretary-general of the National Student Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, by the association’s leader, K. Zakiryanov.
The International Association of Universities of Physical Culture and Sport unites more than 60 leading universities worldwide that specialize in physical culture and sports, with the aim of conducting joint scientific research and developing international cooperation. The main goal of the association is to increase the significance of physical culture and sport on a global level and contribute to promoting a healthy lifestyle. The association works on improving education in physical culture and sports, updating curricula in universities of different countries, exchanging experience, and supporting scientific research. It also promotes the development of international cooperation, supports projects between universities, and introduces new methods and technologies in the field of physical culture and sports. Regular international conferences, seminars, and symposia organized by the association provide scientific and methodological support to universities for accelerating the development of sports.
The inclusion of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport in this prestigious international association is of great importance for effectively studying the advanced global experience, innovative technologies, and achievements of modern science in the field of physical culture and sports.
