In the era of the Revival of the new era of the prosperous state, thanks to the tireless efforts of our National Leader, Hero Arkadag, and Esteemed President, Arkadagly Hero Serdar, large-scale work is being carried out to scientifically develop our country’s agriculture and to further improve the education system. All necessary conditions are being created for the sustainable development of agriculture and for enhancing the scientific level and professional skills of future highly qualified specialists.
In line with such opportunities, on December 19, 2024, in the Year of “The Ocean of Wisdom – Magtymguly Pyragy,” the Turkmen Agricultural Institute held an international scientific and practical online conference titled “The Role of Biotechnology in the Sustainable Development of Agriculture.”
Representatives from 84 higher educational institutions and research centers from 14 countries participated in the conference. The rector of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, D. Yolov, delivered a welcoming speech at the general meeting. Then, representatives from the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Moldova, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan gave insightful presentations on the role of biotechnology in the sustainable development of agriculture.
The conference continued its work in five sections: 1. Genetic Engineering and Selection of Agricultural Crops. 2. Biotechnology in Animal Husbandry. 3. Biopesticides and Biofertilizers. 4. Bioremediation and Ecological Sustainability. 5. Education and Capacity Building in Agricultural Biotechnology. A total of 260 works were presented, and the most outstanding ones were highlighted and announced during the concluding session of the international scientific and practical conference.
Holding such conferences is of great significance for the scientific development of our country’s agriculture, strengthening scientific and educational cooperation between countries, and enhancing friendly relations among peoples.
