International Year of Peace and Trust This slogan will lead us to new heights of progress

Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, from the moment he took office as head of state, has steadfastly continued the path of our ancestors in the era of the Renaissance of a new epoch of a mighty state. He has been energetically working to implement deep reforms in all areas of the country’s socio-economic development, driving Turkmenistan to join the ranks of the world’s advanced nations.

The initiative of the Heroic Arkadag to associate each year with important tasks reflected in meaningful slogans, which guide our people toward new successes, is of immense significance. In this regard, the decision to declare 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” is deeply meaningful, based on the decree of the President.

It is particularly important that different periods in the history of more than 30 years of Independence have been thoughtfully named:

• The first period (1991–2006) is called the era of the national revival of the mighty state;

• The second period (2007–2012), beginning with the appointment of Heroic Arkadag as head of state, is called the era of new Renaissance and great reforms;

• The third period (2012–2022) is called the era of happiness of the mighty state;

• The fourth period, starting in February 2022, is called the era of the Renaissance of a new epoch of a mighty state.

When Heroic Arkadag began his term as head of state in 2007, all the issues of the transitional period were fully resolved, and a new era in the development of independent Turkmenistan began. This era was named by Arkadag the era of new Renaissance and great reforms. In February 2012, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, it was announced that the nation had stepped into a new stage of development, entering the era of the happiness of the mighty state.

Each year, marked by a specific slogan, lifted the spirit of the people and served as a guiding star, directing everyone to fulfill important tasks.

Special attention is given to years named in honor of significant events and initiatives:

2014 was declared the year of Magtymguly Pyragy in honor of the 290th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker; 2015 was the year of Turkmenistan – the country of neutrality and peace, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the international recognition of permanent neutrality; 2016 was the year of Respect for Heritage, Transformation of the Homeland, emphasizing the importance of cultural and spiritual values; 2017 was the year of Turkmenistan – the country of health and inspiration, coinciding with the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games; 2018 was the year of Turkmenistan – the heart of the Great Silk Road; 2019 was the year of Turkmenistan – the country of prosperity; 2020 was the year of Turkmenistan – the country of neutrality, marking the 25th anniversary of the international recognition of neutrality; 2021 was the year of Turkmenistan – the country of peace and trust; 2022 was the year of the Epoch of Arkadag’s era of the people; 2023 was the year of Arkadag Serdar and the prosperous youth; 2024 was the year of Magtymguly Pyragy – the ocean of wisdom, in honor of the 300th anniversary of his birth.

All these years have become symbols of the realization of great deeds, inspiring the people to achieve significant successes.

On December 27, 2024, at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council of Turkmenistan, the President noted that 2025 will be declared the “International Year of Peace and Trust”. This slogan reflects Turkmenistan’s major international initiatives, including the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality, which will be widely celebrated both within the country and internationally.

A State Organizational Group has been created under the leadership of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan to conduct high-level events. The year 2025 has begun with great enthusiasm, as a year of new achievements and great deeds.
