A magnificent and invaluable gift to both Turkmen citizens and the broader readership as 2024, the “Year of Magtymguly Pyragy’s Wisdom,” concludes, and 2025, the “International Year of Peace and Trust,” approaches, is the new book by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, “Magtymguly — Thinker of the World.” To mark this occasion, presentations of Arkadagly Hero Serdar’s work have been taking place from the very start of the new year. Today, a special event dedicated to the release of the book was held at the Center for Public Organizations in Ashgabat. The event was jointly organized by the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, the Mejlis, and public organizations.
During the extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council held on December 27, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that significant historical transformations were implemented during the “Year of Magtymguly Pyragy’s Wisdom.” He highlighted the peaceful and prosperous life of the Turkmen people, the grand international celebrations of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet, and announced the completion of his work on the book “Magtymguly — Thinker of the World.”
The head of state emphasized that the book reflects the literary legacy of the outstanding poet, his immense contribution to global culture, the celebrations marking the poet’s jubilee, and the significant achievements of Turkmenistan.
During the presentation, speakers expressed their gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for this remarkable literary work and extended their best wishes for continued success in all his noble endeavors.
The book opens with beautiful poems, including “The Future of Turkmenistan” by Magtymguly Pyragy and “The Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy” by National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, and Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The work provides a comprehensive analysis of Magtymguly’s significance in Turkmen history, his contributions to world literature, and the scientific exploration of his life and creativity. It underscores the importance of the poet’s wise guidance in promoting universal peace and highlights international events in 2024, celebrated under the motto “The Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy” on the occasion of the poet's 300th birth anniversary.
Speakers noted that the new book by Arkadagly Hero Serdar is aimed at a broad readership and connoisseurs of Magtymguly’s rich literary heritage.
The book consists of eight sections: “The Key to Understanding Magtymguly”; “Magtymguly Pyragy’s School and Turkmen Scholars of His Work”; “A Fountain of Wisdom”; “Poet of the World”; “Poet of Times and Civilizations”; “Remain in the Memory of the People”; “Documents, Congratulations, and Speeches Related to the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy”; and “On the Path to the Creator and Truth.”
Published at a high printing standard, the book is available in three separate editions: Turkmen, Russian, and English, and is richly illustrated.

In his book, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of correctly interpreting the legacy of this great thinker, whose profound wisdom and exceptional talent have left an enduring mark. Arkadagly Hero Serdar observed: “Magtymguly is a deep ocean; to retrieve the pearls of his creativity, one must dive to the very depths. Magtymguly is a high sky; to grasp its height, one must ascend to the stars. Magtymguly is a great man; to comprehend his greatness, one must possess the highest human qualities.”
The book also highlights the contributions of talented scholars, professors, writers, and international experts who have studied the life and literary legacy of this great poet. It includes lists of individuals awarded the jubilee medal “In Honor of the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy” and commemorative badges, as stipulated by official documents signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. These recognitions, as noted, serve as valuable reminders for future generations.
In “Magtymguly — Thinker of the World,” Arkadagly Hero Serdar writes: “Alongside those who continue the literary school of Magtymguly or have depicted his image in their works, the names of scholars who explore the scientific and literary legacy of this great poet must be mentioned. In truth, every Turkmen is a Magtymguly scholar. Every Turkmen strives to understand Magtymguly throughout their life, living by his words and wisdom.” The new book by the head of state serves as a key to understanding the rich literary heritage of this extraordinary poet and thinker, a distinguished son of the Turkmen nation.
