The number of people studying Japanese has increased significantly in Turkmenistan

The number of citizens studying Japanese has increased significantly in Turkmenistan. This was stated by the Japanese Ambassador to Turkmenistan Sasaki Hiroshi in his New Year message to the citizens of Turkmenistan, published on the embassy's website.

In particular, he noted that the number of people studying Japanese in Turkmenistan has increased from about 50 in 2015 to more than 16 000 today.

Let us remind that in 2023, the figure was about 13 360 people.

Sasaki Hiroshi assumed his diplomatic duties in Turkmenistan in November 2023. During this time, active visits of high-ranking leaders and economic exchanges have been conducted. Japanese trading companies and enterprises are also actively doing business in Turkmenistan.

In his New Year's message, the ambassador also recalled that this year, EXPO 2025 will be held in Osaka, Japan. Turkmenistan's National Day at the exhibition is scheduled for April 14, the day after the opening ceremony.
