Presentation ceremony of the book “Magtymguly — the Sage of the World” at the Turkmen State University

Today, on January 8, at Magtymguly Turkmen State University, a presentation ceremony of the book “Magtymguly — the Sage of the World” by our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was conducted organized by the science, education, healthcare, sports fields and youth and public organizations.

The participants of the presentation ceremony attended the exhibition of books, specimens of applied and fine arts organized at the hall of the university. The songs glorifying our Arkadagly Hero Serdar, our prosperous Motherland, our national values, and Turkmen nature, performed by the dutar group of Cultural Center “Bagtyyarlyk Owazlary”, left a grand impression on the participants.

At the beginning of the ceremony, students of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture performed a literary and musical composition entitled “Magtymguly — the Sage of the World; We, the youth, say our gratifications to our Arkadagly Serdar!” Then, the ceremony continued with speeches. The speakers noted that this magnificent book, dedicated to our great poet Magtymguly Pyragy, who enriched the golden treasury of world literature with his invaluable literary heritage, worldly views, and unique poetic philosophies, is a wonderful fruit of the sharp talent and creative inspiration of our Esteemed President, a beacon of light for human hearts, and that the publication of this work on the eve of the New Year holiday became one of the remarkable events of the year of “The Fount of Wisdom - Magtymguly Pyragy”.

The fact that the scientifically based ideas, philosophical teachings, and enthusiastic words put forward in the chapters of the new book by our Arkadagly Hero Serdar entitled “The Key to Understanding Magtymguly”, “The School of Magtymguly Pyragy and the Turkmen Magtymguly Scholars”, “The Fount of Wisdom”, “The Poet of Peace”, “Poet of Times and Civilizations”, and “Remain in the Memory of the People” connect the periods of our wise poet’s precious poetry, which has become the pride of near and far, neighboring nations, recognizes that Magtymguly Pyragy is a great figure worthy of the highest respect of all humanity.

In their speeches, speakers noted that, despite the past three centuries, Magtymguly Pyragy occupies a worthy place in Turkmen life and education, that the poet’s creativity is the basis of the spiritual world of the Turkmen people, native language, their deeply meaningful literary heritage, their unique culture of life, and the national school of educating the younger generation in accordance with high moral principles, that the school of education of the great poet cultivates the best qualities in a person - spiritual and moral purity, honesty, loyalty to the people, the Motherland, the desire for science and knowledge, and curiosity. It was noted in the speeches that the collected works of the great thinker poet have won the great love of the peoples of America, Europe, the Pacific Ocean, Asia, and the Middle East, that monographs, novels, short stories, poems, and rhymes have been written dedicated to the great poet, who created a valuable intellectual heritage for humanity, and that documentary and feature films, stage and musical works, sculptures, and paintings have been created. The speakers noted that the poet’s manuscript collection was included in the UNESCO Memory of the World Program, that the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) adopted a Resolution on the approval of significant dates to be celebrated jointly with UNESCO in 2024-2025 at its 42nd session on November 21, 2023, and that the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy was included in the list of these significant dates, and that the International Organization of Turkic Culture declared 2024 the “Year of Magtymguly Pyragy, the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World.” At the end of the ceremony, the participants adopted an Address to our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Words of gratitude were expressed to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, who are implementing the policy aimed at peace, prosperity and sustainable development in our prosperous Motherland.

The song “Magtymguly’s words are our way to peace, Gratifications to You, our Arkadagly Hero Serdar” performed by the choir of the Cultural Center “Bagtyyarlyk Owazlary” of Magtymguly Turkmen State University, gave an impressive touch to the ceremony.
