On September 30, a videoconference took place between the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, J. Gurbandeldiyev, and the Minister of Education of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Farah Sheikh Abdulqadir. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Turkmenistan, Fathudin Ali Muhammad, whose office is based in Ankara.
During the conference, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan conveyed his sincere appreciation to his Somali counterpart for expressing an interest in fostering educational cooperation between Turkmenistan and Somalia. He provided a comprehensive overview of the structure of Turkmenistan’s educational system, the country’s achievements on the international stage, and its strategic priorities for the future. In the course of discussions, the Minister proposed that Somali representatives participate in scientific and practical conferences, exhibitions, and international competitions and Olympiads held in Turkmenistan for schoolchildren and university students alike.
In response, the Minister of Education of Somalia extended his gratitude for these proposals and conveyed Somalia’s strong interest in establishing educational collaboration with Turkmenistan, utilizing the capacities available in his country. He further proposed the organization of a series of virtual meetings aimed at facilitating an exchange of expertise between the academic staff of higher education institutions from both nations, highlighting this initiative as a pivotal step towards the enhancement of bilateral educational relations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed mutual gratitude for the interest and proposals concerning cooperation in the educational sphere between Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Somalia, expressing their hope that this collaboration would be of reciprocal benefit.
