On January 8, 2025, a training and methodological seminar was held in Turkmenabat, Lebap province, at the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi. The seminar focused on the patriotic, educational, and moral significance of the new book “Jewel of Mind” by Hero Arkadag, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The event also explored pedagogical ideas from the book and their application in teaching methods.
Participants included Sapargeldi Durdiyev, Head of the Department for Professional Development of Educational Workers at the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan and Doctor of Biological Sciences; Nur Nazar Jumannazarov, a veteran educator and recipient of the “Gairat” and “Magtymguly Pyragy” medals; along with leaders and specialists from the Lebap province Department of Education, district education officials, and faculty and students from the institute.
The seminar was opened by Meret Weliev, Head of the Lebap Province Department of Education. The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of Turkmenistan, followed by a keynote address from the institute’s rector, Gurbandurdy Muhammedov.
Dr. Sapargeldi Durdiyev delivered a detailed speech about the book, highlighting its rich depiction of Turkmen history, national characteristics, and spiritual values. The book emphasizes the moral virtues of Turkmens, including wisdom, mutual respect, unity, and commitment to peace. It also celebrates the teachings of Turkmen thinkers such as Magtymguly Pyragy, Zelili, and Seyitnazar Seydi as exemplary for young people.
Furthermore, the book underlines the importance of preserving and passing on national heritage to future generations. It discusses themes of love for the homeland, optimism, and historical events fostering international friendship and cooperation.
Veteran educator Nur Nazar Jumannazarov noted that the book emphasizes humanitarian traditions of the Turkmen people, such as mutual assistance, hospitality, unity, equality, and justice, presenting them as a model for youth.
“Jewel of Mind” is not just an account of the past but also a guide for nurturing individuals with high moral values in a modern society. The book serves as a source of inspiration for young people, deepening their love for their homeland and people, enriching them spiritually, and encouraging them to look confidently toward the future.
This book, as a school of patriotism and humanism, will continue to inspire young people, strengthening the unity, high spirit, and glorious future of the Turkmen people.
The seminar concluded with engaging discussions about the book, during which participants expressed gratitude to the National Leader, Hero Arkadag, and Arkadagly Hero Serdar. Attendees also visited the institute’s historical museum, where Jepar Khatamov, Head of the Department of History and Teaching Methodology and Candidate of Historical Sciences, conducted an insightful tour.
