On January 13, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev and the heads of regional administrations. The meeting focused on the state of affairs in the agricultural sector and regions of the country, as well as the implementation of the National Rural Program.
The first report was delivered by the governor of Ahal Province, S. Soltanmyradov, who informed about the progress of seasonal agricultural work.
It was noted that, in line with the President's instructions to ensure food abundance in the domestic market, appropriate measures are being taken in wheat-sown fields.
Additionally, preparations for cotton sowing continue on designated plots through plowing, harrowing, and ridge forming.
Efforts are also being made to supply farmers with high-quality seeds and maintain agricultural machinery in proper working condition throughout the growing season.
In preparation for the spring planting of potatoes and vegetable crops, seed materials are being procured, and land leveling is underway.
The governor also reported on measures to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of electricity, gas, and water supply systems for the population, as well as heating for social facilities. Furthermore, information was provided about the progress of infrastructure projects planned to open this year under the National Rural Program.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to strictly comply with agricultural technology requirements during seasonal campaigns and to prepare in an organized manner for the spring sowing season.
Specific instructions were given to monitor the quality and timing of construction projects planned for completion this year under the country's socio-economic development programs.
Next, the governor of Balkan Province, H. Ashyrmyradov, reported on the progress of agricultural work.
It was noted that proper care is being provided in wheat fields, while preparations for cotton planting include harrowing and ridge formation. Quality seed materials are being procured, and machinery is being readied for spring operations.
To ensure an abundance of vegetable crops, land preparation is underway for post-winter planting.
Efforts are also being made to maintain the functionality of heating systems in residential homes, educational institutions, cultural centers, and administrative buildings. Uninterrupted electricity, water, and gas supply to the population is also being ensured. Information was provided about the progress of infrastructure projects slated for opening this year under the National Rural Program.
After hearing the report, the President ordered the proper execution of current seasonal measures, particularly the care of wheat and preparation for spring planting.
Further, the governor of Dashoguz Province, D. Babayev, reported on seasonal agricultural campaigns.
He noted that in preparation for cotton sowing, plowing, harrowing, boundary marking, and soil washing are being conducted. High-quality seeds adapted to local soil and climate conditions are being prepared for farmers, and machinery is being made ready for operation.
Land preparation for spring potato planting and other crops is also ongoing.
Efforts are being made to maintain heating systems, and uninterrupted electricity, water, and gas supply. Updates on construction projects planned for opening under the National Rural Program were also shared.
