The United Kingdom aims to become an artificial intelligence (AI) superpower

The United Kingdom aims to achieve the status of a superpower in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) by 2030.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has presented an ambitious plan that includes the creation of new data centers, the production of microchips, and the development of supercomputers. It is expected that the implementation of AI will bring the country's economy approximately $57 billion annually and create more than 13,000 jobs.

The strategy envisions simplifying the process of obtaining construction permits and developing the energy infrastructure necessary to support new technologies.

Three technology companies have already announced their intention to invest $17 billion in creating AI infrastructure. Starmer emphasizes AI's ability to significantly increase economic productivity, which is confirmed by forecasts from the International Monetary Fund. The strategy also includes measures to reduce administrative barriers and modernize key infrastructure. It is important to note that the United Kingdom already holds third place globally in the number of AI startups, second only to the United States and China. The implementation of this strategy could strengthen the country's position as a global leader in AI and create new opportunities for businesses and citizens.
