In the era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, active measures are being taken to improve the quality of foreign language teaching in accordance with international standards. Particular attention is being paid to the enhancement of teaching methods, the study of advanced international experience, the integration of innovative methodologies into the educational process, and the development of professional, creative, and methodological skills of educators.
As part of these efforts, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, in cooperation with the Embassy of the United States, organized a series of seminars under the "English Language Specialist" program. These events are being held at the International University for the Humanities and Development.
The training sessions, aimed at developing practical skills for teaching English in secondary schools, provided an opportunity for educators from higher educational institutions to enhance their qualifications in innovative teaching methods. Scientific staff from the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan also participated, engaging in discussions on pressing issues related to the development of curricula and teaching materials, as well as modern requirements for lesson planning.
The seminars were conducted by Dr. Beth Clark-Gareca, a professor at the State University of New York. She generously shared her extensive experience in English language teaching methodologies with her Turkmen colleagues.
During the seminars, key topics such as the history of English language teaching methodologies, motivating students in English classes, task-based language learning, and other effective approaches were discussed.
The knowledge gained during the seminars significantly broadened the professional horizons of the participants and enriched their practical expertise in teaching English.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our National Leader, Hero Arkadag, and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for creating extensive opportunities for the high-quality teaching and learning of foreign languages in Turkmenistan.
