On January 29, 2025, the meeting took place at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Turkmenistan, Mrs. Elizabeth Rood.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on issues related to strengthening Turkmen-American cooperation in the field of education. The importance of continuing efforts to develop curricula, improve the professional skills of teachers, and expand educational cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries was emphasized.
The Turkmen side noted that the year 2025 is of particular importance as the International Year of Peace and Trust, and also coincides with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality Status, secured by resolutions of the UN General Assembly. In this regard, the development of the educational and cultural directions of bilateral cooperation was identified as one of the important tasks.
The US Ambassador, Mrs. Rood, noted the importance of further expanding cooperation in order to introduce new teaching methods, develop English language teaching methodologies, and create new opportunities for students and teachers.
The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of education and expanding the scope of cooperation, which, it was emphasized, would serve to develop human capital and deepen academic relations between the two countries.
