Students and staff of universities in CA studied the fundamentals of sustainable energy through an online course

Students and staff of higher education institutions in Central Asian countries (CA), including Turkmenistan, have completed an online course on "Introduction to Sustainable Energy: Theory and Practice".

The course was specifically designed by the European Union (EU) for the winners and participants of student debates organized as part of the campaign "European Union – Central Asia: Days of Sustainable Energy" in all CA countries in 2024. The course was organized by the EU project "Sustainable Energy Connections in Central Asia" (SECCA) and implemented by the Florence School of Regulation (FSR, Italy), which is a European center of excellence for innovative training in energy and climate.

The training consisted of nine modules. Each module included an online session with instructors and researchers from FSR, as well as additional materials for self-study. Upon completion of the course, participants gained knowledge about the EU's energy and climate policy, the internal energy market of the EU, electricity sector regulation, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, electric mobility, consumer engagement and support, gender aspects of sustainable energy strategies, and current challenges and prospects for the energy sector in the CA region and individual countries.
