A meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Nicaragua was held in New York

Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua Valdrak Ludwig Vitaker on 30 September in New York.
During the meeting, the sides reviewed the level of bilateral ties between Turkmenistan and Nicaragua. The parties voiced the expediency of establishing a mechanism of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
The sides noted the importance of organising mutual visits at the appropriate level to promote inter-parliamentary cooperation. The sides stressed the importance of joint efforts to promote peace-loving initiatives within the UN and other authoritative structures.
The sides expressed interest in developing trade and economic ties. In addition, the sides discussed opportunities for establishing cooperation in science, culture, sports, tourism and strengthening the bilateral legal framework in priority areas.
