A ceremony dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality was held in the city of Almaty

On January 30, 2025, the Almaty House of Friendship hosted an event marking the 30th anniversary of the Turkmen Socio-Cultural Center in Almaty, as well as the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
During the celebrations, representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan delivered a congratulatory speech and presented the program of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality, which is being celebrated this year.
The presentation highlighted that the anniversary celebrations of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality coincide with the United Nations General Assembly’s declaration of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust." This recognition underscores the growing significance of the legal status of a neutral state in the modern world. The neutrality status was declared and enshrined in 1995, becoming a key element of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy strategy, based on the principles of good neighborliness, equality, and mutual understanding.
The slogan "International Year of Peace and Trust" reflects the essence of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy and its commitment to creating conditions for sustainable peace. An official emblem for the year has also been approved, which will serve as an important symbol of the upcoming celebrations. Its presentation generated significant interest, as such symbols hold deep cultural and historical significance in Turkmenistan.
Participants of the event also had the opportunity to learn about the achievements and daily life of the Turkmen people through a specially prepared video presentation.
Notably, the event was attended by representatives of the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens, the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, representatives of diplomatic missions, the President of the Foundation for the Culture of Turkic Peoples, ethnocultural centers of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, media representatives, public figures, and officials from the Almaty Akimat and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
