Hero-Arkadag held a meeting with the Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan, Akihisa Nagashima, on January 5

During the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, expressed his gratitude for the time allocated for the meeting. The guest emphasized Japan's particular attention to strengthening multifaceted cooperation with Turkmenistan and, taking the opportunity, conveyed greetings and best wishes to Hero-Arkadag from Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.

Warmly welcoming the special advisor to the Japanese Prime Minister, the National Leader of the Turkmen People sent reciprocal greetings to Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.

Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that the current visit of Mr. Akihisa Nagashima would contribute to expanding and enriching the relations between Turkmenistan and Japan, and wished him success in the upcoming negotiations during his stay in the country.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty also noted that, at Turkmenistan's initiative, 2025 was declared the "International Year of Peace and Trust" by the United Nations General Assembly and expressed gratitude to Japan for its support. In this context, the National Leader of the Turkmen People informed the guest about the high-level international forum scheduled for the International Year of Peace and Trust, marking the 30th anniversary of the neutrality of the Homeland, and invited Japan to participate.

The guest, in turn, emphasized the significant role of mutual visits in strengthening interstate dialogue and shared pleasant memories of the National Leader of the Turkmen People's visits to Japan.

The meeting highlighted the active dynamics of Turkmen-Japanese relations in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, social, cultural-humanitarian, and other fields. In particular, the steady, stable, and long-term nature of bilateral economic cooperation was emphasized, with the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation playing a significant role in maintaining this interaction. As is known, the 15th session of the Committee was held in Turkmenistan in December last year, during which new directions were set to expand bilateral partnerships.

Hero-Arkadag noted the special attention given in Turkmenistan to the diversification of natural gas export routes and the development of the related processing industry, considering the enormous natural gas reserves in the country.

Large Japanese companies have been successfully operating in Turkmenistan's gas and chemical industries for many years. Products manufactured at jointly constructed production facilities with Japanese partners occupy a significant niche in Turkmenistan's exports, enjoying growing demand both domestically and internationally.

Among the successful projects, the polymer plant in Kiyanly, the urea plant in Garabogaz, the gasoline plant from natural gas in Akhal velayat, and the Maryazot plant were highlighted.

Mr. Akihisa Nagashima expressed sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen People and President Serdar Berdymukhamedov for providing favorable conditions for the constructive work of Japanese commercial organizations.

During the meeting, it was noted that a number of large projects are being implemented jointly with Japanese companies in Turkmenistan. Hero-Arkadag confirmed the country's readiness to enhance targeted partnerships.

In April of this year, the World Expo EXPO 2025 will be held in Osaka, Japan, and Turkmenistan is interested in participating. Measures are currently being taken by the specially created Organizing Committee.

Emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the two countries in bilateral and multilateral formats, Hero-Arkadag, taking the opportunity, wished success in holding the first Central Asia + Japan Dialogue Summit and the World Expo EXPO 2025.

During the meeting, the significant role of cultural and humanitarian dialogue in strengthening interstate relations, as well as in bringing peoples closer together and enriching their cultures, was also discussed.

In this regard, the National Leader of the Turkmen People emphasized the partnership in the field of education. The Oguz Khan Engineering and Technology University teaches the Japanese language, and it is necessary to continue constructive targeted cooperation, as well as organize mutual Cultural Days, said Hero-Arkadag.

Hero-Arkadag confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to activate and enrich the bilateral relations substantively.

In conclusion, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, and the Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan, Akihisa Nagashima, expressed confidence in the steady strengthening of constructive Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in the interests of the friendly peoples and exchanged best wishes.
