The Olympiad was organized with the goal of implementing the action plans of the Concept for the Development of Digital Education in Turkmenistan and the Concept for Improving the Teaching of Natural and Exact Sciences in Turkmenistan. The aim was to introduce innovations into the education system, identify talented youth among school students, and enhance their knowledge in informatics. The Olympiad included students from the 11th and 12th grades, selected based on the results of two previous rounds of the competition. Participants from all corners of the country gathered in the capital for the event.
The participants were given a tour of the university’s Zoological Museum and the cultural and entertainment complex "Magtymguly Pyragy," located at the foot of the Kopetdag Mountains.
Initially, the Olympiad was held among 11th-grade students. The event aims to nurture young people who are capable of solving current scientific and practical problems, enhance their knowledge in informatics, strengthen cooperation between secondary schools and higher education institutions, and encourage students to develop professional skills.
The Olympiad consists of three rounds — individual competitions among students of the 11th and 12th grades. The first round (district level) was held on January 20, 2025, in cities and districts. Students who stood out in the first round were invited to participate in the second round. The second round was held on January 24th in Ashgabat, Arkadag, and the regions, where the best participants earned the right to compete in the third round of the Olympiad.
On February 6th, the 12th-grade students will compete, and on February 7th, the closing ceremony of the Olympiad will take place, where the winners will be awarded I, II, and III degree diplomas, medals, and commemorative gifts.
