The Sakarchaga District of Mary Province was named the best district in the country in 2024

On January 7, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, where the results of the economy's performance in 2024 were reviewed, reports from deputy prime ministers, ministers, and regional governors were heard. The agenda also included forward-looking tasks for the socio-economic development of the country in 2025 and personnel matters.
Addressing the meeting participants, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that, as is known, a competition was announced at the beginning of the previous year among the districts and cities with district rights in the provinces to determine the best one based on all indicators.
Recently, a special Commission under the leadership of the Trade Unions summarized the results of this competition. In this regard, the Head of State gave the floor to O. Berdiliyeva, Chairwoman of the National Trade Union Center, for the corresponding report.
It was emphasized that under the visionary leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, the noble initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, for the development of the provinces and the city of Ashgabat on a competitive basis continues successfully.
In accordance with the relevant Decree of the Head of State, this Commission has carried out the necessary work in the established manner. As a result, the best district of the country for 2024, held under the slogan "Treasure of wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi" was determined.
According to the results of the competition, the Sakarchaga District of Mary Province was named the winner, achieving the best results in social, economic, and cultural indicators.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree announcing the Sakarchaga District of Mary Province as the winner of the 2024 competition and awarding the district's administration a monetary prize of 1 million US dollars. He also announced the holding of a similar competition in 2025.
Addressing the meeting participants, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that as a result of the diligent work of our people in the year "Treasure of wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi," significant successes were achieved, planned goals were met, and efforts to develop and implement modern laws continued.
