A round table discussion was held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International oil and gas university to discuss the planned tasks of the ESGCA project, implemented within the framework of the European Union's Erasmus+ program.

On February 11, 2025, a round table discussion was held at the Computer Computing Center of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International oil and gas university, dedicated to the results of the kick-off meeting of the project "Bridging environmental concerns, societal needs, and good governance in Central Asian education and employment sectors" (ESGCA). The kick-off meeting itself took place at the University of Genoa (Italy) on January 21-23, 2025, with the participation of representatives from all universities and organizations that are partners in this project.

Participants of the round table, including faculty members, specialists, and students of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International oil and gas university, listened to presentations by Senior Lecturer of the Cybersecurity Department, Ph.D. M.Churiyev, and Director of the Computer Computing Center M.Saparov, who visited the University of Genoa in early 2025.

In his presentation, M. Churiyev briefly spoke about the ESGCA project, implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, as well as about the visit to Genoa and its outcomes. He informed the participants of the round table about the order issued by the Rector of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International oil and gas university, B. Atamanov, regarding the establishment of a working group to carry out the tasks of the ESGCA project.

He systematically explained the initial goals and objectives discussed at the kick-off meeting in Genoa, which involve the development of the ESG Master's program. To achieve this, it was decided to conduct several training sessions by the end of the first half of 2025. Thus, the locations and approximate dates for three training sessions were determined:

  • Lucian Blagi University in Sibiu (Romania, late March 2025)
  • Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (Slovakia, early April 2025)
  • University of Genoa (Italy, May 2025)

The budgetary funds allocated for conducting these training sessions and purchasing necessary equipment were also determined.

Next, M. Saparov addressed the round table participants regarding the creation of the official website of the ESGCA project, available at https://esgca-erasmus.com. He urged those present to actively promote and disseminate information about this web resource among faculty and students, as this will contribute to increased engagement and awareness of the project.

Additionally, a preliminary draft of the ESG Master's program, designed for two years and 120 credits, was presented for review.

Following the presentations, a discussion was held on the upcoming tasks, defining the events and strategies for their effective implementation, identifying the roles and responsibilities of the established working group, and developing its action plan.
