On February 11, 2025, a meeting took place in the Parliament of Georgia between the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia, D. Seyitmammedov, and the Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, N. Tsilosani.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the state and prospects of Turkmen-Georgian relations, emphasizing the significant potential for expanding cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian areas, as well as in the fields of transport and energy.
Special attention was given to the interaction between the legislative bodies of the two countries, which is an essential component in the development of comprehensive Turkmen-Georgian cooperation.
The participants of the meeting noted the visit to Turkmenistan by a parliamentary delegation headed by the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, which took place in April 2024. The parties particularly emphasized that the meeting of parliamentary speakers is an effective platform for regular dialogue and the identification of priority areas for cooperation.
The role of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group was highlighted during the meeting, as its activities serve as an effective tool for mutual understanding between the peoples and the promotion of constructive partnership. The parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen the partnership across the full spectrum of issues.
