On January 15, the VII Conference of Judges of Turkmenistan took place at the "Adalat" Palace, with representatives from the Supreme Court, the Arbitration Court, and judges of regional, city, and district courts in attendance. The agenda focused on the priority areas of the country's judicial bodies' activities.
As emphasized in the speeches, as a result of the policies implemented during the era of the Revival of the New Epoch of a Mighty State under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, significant progress has been made in all sectors of Turkmenistan today. A key aspect of the legal reform, which was initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, is the organization of court operations in line with modern realities. Special attention is given to studying advanced practices and incorporating digital technologies into the activities of this law enforcement body.
One of the central topics was the progress of implementing the "Program for the Development of the Judicial System of Turkmenistan for 2022–2028." The reports highlighted the measures being undertaken to successfully address the pressing tasks outlined in the document.
Among the issues discussed were the modernization of the domestic judicial system and court procedures. In this regard, the reports covered the organization of the judiciary's activities in accordance with international practices, utilizing digital systems.
The conference also focused on the ongoing work to improve judicial legislation in line with the demands of the modern era.
As noted in his speeches, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasizes that one of the most important tasks is the training of highly qualified specialists with unconventional thinking, broad knowledge, and the necessary professional skills. Based on this, strengthening the personnel potential has been identified as a key direction of judicial reform, as the effectiveness of judges' responsibilities largely depends on the qualification level of the staff. Accordingly, the agenda included issues of enhancing professionalism, introducing modern methods into the process, and organizing specialized training courses.
There was also an exchange of opinions on topics included in the 2025 Work Plan, and the Plan of Events to be organized by the courts in connection with the declaration of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" was discussed.
Following the conference, relevant decisions were adopted.
In conclusion, the attendees expressed their deep gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, for creating opportunities for effective work, and assured that they would serve the Fatherland and the native people with honor, standing guard over the achievements of sacred independence and the greatest accomplishments of the era of the Revival of the New Epoch of a Mighty State.
