A New Textbook Published “Algebra and the Fundamentals of Analysis” for the 12th Grade

In Turkmenistan, great importance is attached to improving the education system, fostering an educated and knowledgeable generation with a broad outlook, and training specialists capable of handling innovative technologies.

The educational policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, aims to strengthen the political, economic, and cultural foundations of the state and to utilize scientific and educational potential to elevate the country’s development to a new level.

Today, all necessary conditions have been created in Turkmenistan to ensure that children and young people receive education in accordance with international standards. This is crucial for enhancing the nation’s intellectual capacity, forming a modern workforce, and supplying the national economy with highly qualified specialists.

To provide children with a modern education, the mathematics curriculum has been updated, and new textbooks have been developed for the 12-year education system. The “Algebra and the Fundamentals of Analysis” textbook for the 12th grade is designed for general secondary schools in Turkmenistan where instruction is conducted in Russian. This textbook represents the final stage of the school algebra course. It was developed by a team of authors: Zh.A. Starostina, S.E. Volkova, Kh. Geldiyev, and A. Ovezov.

The textbook is intended for both standard classes and those with an advanced focus on mathematics. It presents theoretical material in a language accessible to students, along with detailed solutions and explanations for problems and exercises. The book includes tasks for both basic and advanced levels of study. Teachers can select exercises according to their students’ proficiency levels. Additionally, the textbook provides assignments designed to prepare students for Olympiads and university entrance exams.

In accordance with international standards, the textbook is divided into the following chapters:

• Chapter I: Antiderivative and Integral

• Chapter II: Elements of Combinatorics, Probability Theory, and Mathematical Statistics

• Chapter III: Complex Numbers – The Foundations of Higher Mathematics

• Chapter IV: Equations and Inequalities – A Review of the Entire Algebra Course

The textbook also includes material on the application of integrals and differential equations in solving problems in physics, biology, chemistry, and economics, ensuring interdisciplinary connections.

The 21st century, as an era of the global information society, sets special requirements for the advancement of educational technologies, necessitating the search for new teaching methods and approaches. Addressing these challenges, the President of Turkmenistan has issued a resolution approving the “Concept for Improving the Methodology of Teaching General Education Programs in Turkmenistan until 2028.”
