On February 24, 2025, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan A. Atayev and a delegation led by the Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Office of Gansu Province of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Zhao Xiun.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss proposals aimed at intensifying relations in the field of education with the Gansu province of the People's Republic of China.

The Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan told the distinguished guest about the work done to continuously improve the quality of education in the country in accordance with international best practices and upcoming challenges, including ongoing cooperation with the People's Republic of China.

Mr. Zhao Xiun, in turn, made a detailed presentation about higher educational institutions in the Gansu Province of the People's Republic of China and informed about the support provided to foreign students studying there, including students from Turkmenistan. In addition, he proudly noted that since 2020, the Research Center for Turkmen Studies has been operating at Lanzhou University of Gansu Province, and the Center for Turkmen Culture has been operating at Jiatong University.
