On February 25, during an official visit to the Republic of Turkey, the Turkmen delegation, led by the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, held both bilateral and expanded meetings with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş.
During the meetings, the importance of the adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution "2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust," initiated by Turkmenistan, was emphasized. The Turkmen side expressed its gratitude to the Republic of Turkey for supporting this initiative.
D. Gulmanova expressed confidence that the meetings and negotiations held during the visit would contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral interparliamentary relations. It was also noted that Turkmenistan highly values its interparliamentary cooperation with Turkey and is ready to further develop it in all areas.
During the negotiations, discussions focused on improving the work of parliamentary friendship groups, enhancing cooperation between specialized committees, young and female parliamentarians, as well as organizing joint events aimed at facilitating meetings and consultations at the parliamentary level.
During the conversation, it was particularly highlighted that interparliamentary dialogue has become an important part of cooperation between the two countries, and the parliamentary friendship groups established on a bilateral basis expand opportunities for experience exchange in legislative activities and the development of parliamentary diplomacy.
