The healthcare system of our country continues to gain international recognition

Guided by the initiatives of Hero-Arkadag and with the constant support of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, comprehensive work is being carried out in the Revival of the New Epoch of a Powerful State to modernize the national healthcare system in accordance with global standards. Consistent steps are being taken to improve public health and increase life expectancy. The awarding of prestigious international certificates to newly established modern facilities in this field, which have been commissioned thanks to the tireless efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, enhances the enthusiasm and pride not only of industry professionals but also of all Turkmen citizens.

With the blessing of Hero-Arkadag, last year, on the occasion of the Day of Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers of Turkmenistan, the capital saw the opening of the International Wellness and Rehabilitation Center with 400 beds, equipped with advanced technologies, and the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology with 250 beds, which have no analogs in the region. These medical centers have been awarded the "GERMAN DESIGN AWARD WINNER 2025" certificates by "Rat für Formgebung" of the German Design Council for their design and architectural features, as well as for equipping these healthcare institutions with innovative equipment that meets global standards. The high-quality services provided to patients and the working conditions at these centers comply with international requirements, while the medical equipment used is environmentally safe.

Constructed and commissioned under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and at the initiative of Hero-Arkadag, Honored Architect of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the International Wellness and Rehabilitation Center and the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology have earned high international recognition. The construction of these facilities marks a major achievement for the Turkish company "GAP Inşaat Yatyrym we Dyş Tijaret A.Ş." The projects of the centers built in Ashgabat enabled the company to participate in and win a competition held by the German organization "Rat für Formgebung German Design Council" in Frankfurt, Federal Republic of Germany, in the categories of architecture, design, and product design.

It should be noted that this competition is held annually in Frankfurt by the German Design Council "Rat für Formgebung" with the support of the Federal Government of Germany.

As is known, the International Wellness and Rehabilitation Center and the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology were opened and put into operation in October last year with the participation of Hero-Arkadag. At that time, these modern facilities were awarded certificates and corresponding marks, which recognized the high standards of the centers, their compliance with global quality standards, and high-tech medical equipment.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the centers, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the construction and commissioning of such modern facilities enhance the quality of medical services provided to the population of our country, create new jobs, and improve working conditions for doctors, demonstrating the state's care and commitment to developing the national healthcare system.

In this regard, it is important to highlight the recent decree signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov "On the Approval of the Regulation on Clinical Residency," which has given a powerful impetus to the further advancement of work in this direction. This document, adopted in accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan "On Education," aims to implement the objectives outlined in the State Program "Saglyk," train highly qualified medical professionals, and further improve their professional training.

Since its opening, the International Wellness and Rehabilitation Center has been providing high-quality services to patients. It is the only medical institution of its kind not only in the country but in the entire Central Asian region, specializing in the rehabilitation of patients after injuries and illnesses. The center, equipped with multimedia rehabilitation medical equipment, consists of more than 20 different departments designed for the recovery of both children and adults.

Each department's work is focused on an individual approach to patients. The International Wellness and Rehabilitation Center provides all the necessary conditions for effective health protection activities for our citizens, offering both a high professional level of doctors and the achievements of modern medicine.

This medical institution offers both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for adults and children recovering from chronic illnesses and surgeries. In addition to advanced technologies, traditional medicine practices are also applied here. This contributes to the rapid return of patients suffering from various diseases to normal life and the full restoration of their ability to work.

Another important facility is the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology, a 250-bed center opened in the capital with the blessing of Hero-Arkadag.

The compact arrangement of scientific-clinical departments, laboratories, and diagnostic units creates favorable conditions for timely and well-organized problem-solving. The International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology conducts research on the healing properties of medicinal plants, allergology and immunology, as well as fields such as proper nutrition, physical activity, sports, and labor physiology. Additionally, clinical, educational, scientific, and laboratory research is carried out in these areas. The center has all the capabilities necessary to maintain the stable functioning of the respiratory and circulatory systems.

Based on the "mentor-apprentice" principle established here, a school for young doctors has been created, where domestic specialists actively integrate treatment methods that meet global standards into medical practice as part of international healthcare cooperation. Thanks to the use of innovative equipment, the rehabilitation period for patients after surgeries and the recovery of their ability to work have been significantly reduced. As a result, patients are discharged from the center, transferred under the supervision of a family doctor, and recover within a short period.

Currently, the center conducts choledochoscopic examinations using a choledochoscope, which allows for accurate and comprehensive diagnosis and the prescription of effective treatment.

Cholangioscopic studies are also performed here, using contrast agents under X-ray control and a special endoscopic device to access the internal and external bile ducts from the oral cavity. These procedures significantly aid in diagnosing stones, obstructions, and other conditions that hinder bile flow. After diagnosis, a stone removal operation is performed, or, if necessary, surgical treatment of the bile ducts is carried out. This surgical intervention method is performed without causing trauma to the patient’s body and shortens the postoperative recovery period.

Additionally, in cases where the passage of food from the stomach to the duodenum is obstructed, leading to various pathological conditions in the human body, the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology successfully performs laparoscopic gastric resection using the Billroth II method. Patients who undergo this surgical treatment begin eating independently and recovering within a short period.
