In recent years, successful performances of our athletes in international competitions have led to an increase in interest in chess among young people, teenagers and children. This time, more than 100 talented young people took part in the national championship, scoring more than 1400 points in the rating. Here, it is necessary to pay attention to one more situation. Currently, most representatives of the Higher and First Leagues of our country play at this age. Therefore, this competition is considered a major national competition in its importance.
As usual, the national championship was held in traditional, rapid and blitz types of chess. In the traditional competition among girls, the first place on the podium was taken by a student of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University Lala Shokhradova. She also did not let anyone get ahead in the rapid type of chess competitions.
The victories won at the national championship give Lale Shokhradov the opportunity to participate in regional competitions and the World U20 Championships. The World U20 Championships will be held in Montenegro from February 23 to March 8, 2025.
